ARTISTIC STATEMENT
This is about a peasant girl, Ti Moune who sets on a voyage for her place in the world and is ready to take a chance on love while led by powerful island gods. We have designated 2 opposing sides of the Antilles Island to represent heaven and hell. Agwe (god of water) and Pape Ge (demon of death) reside in hell and heaven is where Asaka (mother of earth), and Erzulie (goddess of love) reside. Scattered around are branches and a stump that Storytellers transform into a Ti Moune tree. This tree is also sittable and moveable. There is also a sand dune where the cast can climb and sit on.
