ARTISTIC STATEMENT
The Importance of Being Earnest uncovers the differences of how the upper class and lower class behave. Members of the upper class display a great deal of contentment and falsification, feeling that they are innately more empowered to their wealthiness and socially higher class position. Oscar Wilde lampoons the egotism and deceit of the privileged. The lower classes are represented to be less ostentatious and more modest. Exaggerating what wealth looks like and even feels like was the approach, greens, golds, and plenty of marble pillars. Walls fly in and out while the pillars stay stationary.
